Club News And Results

Some great results for our athletes who took park in the Outdoor Age Group Championships 2015 at Grangemouth this weekend (22/23 August)

On Saturday, Sol Stewart won his heat to go through to the semi finals of the Under 13 boys 100m with a time of 13.28. From there he came 2nd in his semi final heat with a time of 13.47, qualifying him for the final, where he managed to pick up a bronze medal with a time of 13.48.  Worth mentioning this was Sol's first competition since becoming a member fairly recently so huge well done to him.

Also on Saturday, David Lees was on great form in the Under 17 Javelin.  He managed to get a fantastic new PB with a throw of 47.82m. Overall, David came 5th which was a great achievement.

Ross Lyttle had a fantastic run in his 800m heat and was extremely unlucky not to make the final with a great time of 2.02.35.  He maybe didn't make the final but he has a new PB he can be extremely proud of.

Sunday saw Thomas Watson take part in the Under 15 boys 1500m where he completed his race with a time of 5.09.35 which was extremely close to his current PB . Great effort Thomas, Well Done!

The Under 15 girls Long Jump saw Nicola Lyttle in action.  Of the two pools available, unfortunately for Nicola, she had the one with a 5 wind going against her, although she still managed a very respectable jump of 4.12m

Last but by no means least, our Under 15 boys 200m Scottish Champion, Alexander Young! Alexander qualified from his heat with a time of 25.12 before going onto win in the final with a fantastic time of 24.63.

Sure everyone will agree.......Great Performances/Great Weekend/Great Results!!!

Pictures to follow

What a great couple of days for all our runners/throwers/jumpers at the Scottish Schools competition in Grangemouth.  They should all be very proud of their performances.

Special mention to Alexander Young who won the Under 15 100m race and achieved a new PB for himself, a fantastic time of 11.97 which qualified him for a standards badge!

Also a great day for Ross Lyttle who won his qualifying 800m heat with a fantastic time of 2.02.  He then went on to secure 5th place in the 800m final with a time of 2.04.

Nicola Lyttle had a great performance too securing 6th place in the Long Jump.

And finally, well done to David Lees who finished 6th overall in Javelin, achieving a fantastic throw measuring 40.98m.

WELL DONE EVERYONE.  You have all done yourselves and your club proud!

Congratulations to Alexander Young our Under 15 boys West of Scotland 200m Champion. Well done to Cara Jay who despite carrying an injury came away with a bronze medal in u20 women 200m. Lauren Shanks qualified for the u15 girls final and unfortunately Nicola Lyttle missed out in a final spot by 1 place but bagged a new Pb so well done girls. Thomas Watson and John Lees competed in what turned out to be a fast 1500m with Thomas staying with the pace for most of the race.
